A report on Sir Phillip Green

Arcadia Group owner Sir Phillip Green is problematic to say the least, he has been at the fore front of many scandals in his time, the tamest, if you could call this behaviour tame, is the allegations against him of work place ‘bullying’, he is said to treat his staff in a hostile manner, with one member off staff recalling the atmosphere “changed as soon as he stopped onto the floor.” No one wanted to be approached for fear of their work being disgraced in front of the whole office. There have been numerous times in which his behaviour towards staff has been the topic of conversation, with staff members from Arcadia Head office reporting that he would often touch the bottoms of female staff and have a patronising air in the way he addressed them sometimes pinching their cheeks as he spoke to them and being known to say “apologises for my french, ladies.” after swearing in meetings, which he would often do. This leads to his violent behaviours towards office staff and general office behaviour, it has been reported that he would throw things out of windows in the midst of his many furious rants. He was known in the office for having a temper and an old fashioned view on how to treat people, it was reported he once came into the head office and saw a campaign shoot for Topman which included two male models, seeing this spurred him in to a rage driven rant about how he would not have 'gay' models plastered across his stores.
Although these accusations are not what you would expect from the head of such a massive company they pale in comparison to the other side of his behaviour issues. In the past year various accusations have come out about him sexual and racially harassing his female members of staff, these allegations come in the midst of the #MeToo campaign, Green being named as part of this. The allegations of sexual harassment in the workplace are not the ned of this story, it was found that Green had put in place agreements with his victims for them to not say anything about each incident over threats of losing their jibs, not only this but his attempts to silence news about these allegations went as far as him paying for a gagging order to keep his name out of court rooms, successful until one judge decided he should not get of so lightly especially being such a big name. This uproar of news led to his model friends whom he liked to surround himself with, the likes of Kate Moss, Cara Delevign and Naomi Campbell to name a few, leaving his side almost boycotting him much like his customers had done, this also led to Beyonce wanting nothing to do with the man, buying outright her brand Ivy Park to have full possession over it, for her brand that was meant to empower women she didn't want this negative attention attached to it.
