Proposed Instagram Styling

Proposed Instagram Styling

In accordance with one of my proposed strategies here are a few redesign ideas for the instagram page of Topshop. The redesign is meant to entice the audience with a more put together consistency to the posts, the idea is to make the page look like it fits together rather than just having individual posts be somewhat effective, there should be a running theme through all posts. This is shown to be effective in other brands social media, which is an area Topshop is loosing out on.

For each season I have tried to create a running theme through each post, using similar colour ways and imagery in each image, while still promoting the products clearly and keeping in mind the blogger lifestyle Topshop likes to promote. A more diverse range of  models has also been included in this redesign.

The original images were all taken from their feed around the middle of each season.

AUTUMN
For the Autumn redesign I have tried to go with a very autumnal feel while keeping it fashion. The use of warm toned oranges and browns can be seen throughout. The backgrounds of some images have been changed to more fit with the theme and a few new images were added, an image including a plus size model is shown and an image that relates to the theme not relating to fashion, this will be a repeated design throughout each season, as including random images of inspiration tie the themes together as a whole. A few original images have been kept to show that some of the styles the brand currently use work in this redesign.

SPRING
For the spring theme, the repeated use of flower imagery is used and I tried to stick to a brightly coloured theme to match with the floral effect. The feed gives of the feel of bright sunny days walking through a field, and shows perfectly the mix between relaxed spring looks and more formal spring wear. A few of the original images have been changed completely due to them not fitting in with the spring vibe of this theme, however the new suggestions still fit to the style of the brand and the image they want to portray.

SUMMER
The whole colour scheme of these two feeds don't look too dissimilar from each other, however, the redesign shows a more co ordinated look consistently throughout, with the use of white and blue shades and the imagery of the sea used throughout. The festival season also comes through in this feed with the repeated imagery of festival clothing and the imagery of a a busy festival in the background shows this. Also included in this redesign is a plus size model and also an asian model, whose picture is from a normal instagram, not a blogger or model, showing Topshop has an understanding of normal lives and women too rather than just those who can influence.

WINTER
With party season being right in the middle of winter this theme has more of an evening glam feel to it. The use of sparkle and shimmer and a luxurious gold and silver colour scheme can be seen throughout. Compared to the original it looks all together more coordinated, utilising the original imagery from each photo and adding backgrounds and effects in place to show more of a luxury winter feel.
